VDL Pinnacle Engineering India is a joint venture between the VDL Groep of Netherlands & Pinnacle Industries of India.

The VDL Groep, founded in 1953 & headquartered in the Netherlands, has 100+ companies under their umbrella, in 20+ countries.

Pinnacle Industries, founded in 1996 & headquartered in Pune, is a diversified group of companies in seating & interiors, speciality vehicles, irrigation, retail store solutions & financial services.

VDL Pinnacle Engineering commenced its operations in India in early 2016 in Pune, Maharashtra. Starting out as a design and engineering house, the VDL Groep wanted to develop a team which was capable of supporting global offices and projects, for design of production automation systems, Body-In-White tooling lines and product design for bus & coach.

The Beginning

VDL Pinnacle Engineering India is a joint venture between the VDL Groep of Netherlands & Pinnacle Industries of India.

VDL Pinnacle Engineering commenced its operations in India in early 2016 in Pune, Maharashtra. Until December 2018, VDL Pinnacle was mainly providing process support, simulation, 3D designing & 2D detailing for Body-In-White lines for various VDL companies globally. Project management, site management & QA support for international projects was also provided in this duration

In January 2019, VDL Pinnacle moved to a 20,000 sq. ft. facility in an industrial area in Pune, in order to step-up it’s operations & supply complete turnkey automotive lines to Indian automotive OEM’s & Tier-1 manufacturers.

2020

Delivered second export order for Mainline skids for a commercial vehicle project to be installed in Belgium
Delivered Body-In-White (BIW) welded sub-assemblies for a premium SUV & notch-back model, the end customer being the world’s largest automotive group, based out of Pune, India
Delivered Car Cross Beam (CCB) welded sub-assemblies for a premium SUV & notch-back model, the end customer being the world’s largest automotive group, based out of Pune, India

2019

Delivered a proto tool manufacturing fixture for welding of a chassis frame to the world’s largest automotive Tier-1 manufacturer
Delivered multiple turnkey projects for bus body welding fixtures for a premier global automotive manufacturer & India’s largest bus manufacturer
Delivered a turnkey spot welding & MIG welding line for Front Floor, Rear Floor & Long Rail assemblies for a premium hatch-back model
Delivered Rear Wall & Main Line tools for introduction of a new commercial vehicle model in an existing line for a premier global automotive manufacturer based in South India
Delivered our first ever export shipment to our headquarter in the Netherlands for manufacturing of standard parts which included base plates, robot mounting plates, grouting assemblies, robot brackets, tool changer adapters & dummy tool changers

2018

Provided project management services to VDL Steelweld, United States of America
Delivered design & engineering services for a robotic hemming cell, including supply of hemming head along with robot programming & QA services to a Tier-1 manufacturing supplier for a commercial vehicle
Received first turn-key project order for design, manufacturing, installation & commissioning for bus body fixtures for the Indian market

2017

Delivered 3D designs, robot simulation & 2D detailing for BIW assembly lines to VDL Steelweld in the Netherlands & USA
Provided site management & QA services to VDL Steelweld, Netherlands
Started Product Engineering for VDL Bus & Coach – Product Design and FEA

2016

Start of design & engineering office in April, at Pune, Maharashtra, India
